So...we asked people what they really look for when they hire.

This past April, the day100 team ventured to the Las Vegas desert for HR Transform 2018. While we were there, we asked everyone we met, new friends and old, a single question: What's the most important trait you look for when hiring? 50+ People Leaders and hiring managers answered the call, and we arranged our favorite respones into episodes along four themes:

Episode 1: Grit

The first episode features Kathryn Minshew (The Muse), Dennis R. Mortensen (x.ai), Caribou Honig (HR Transform), Heather Waibel (Welnys) and Meredith Flynn (CB Insights) sharing that for them the most important trait to hire for is grit.

Episode 2: Creative Problem Solving

In the second episode, we hear from Robby Peters (PeopleTech Partners), Virginia White (Formlabs), Eric Goldfarb (GIPHY), Nicole Waibel (Discover Financial) and Jeremy Hamel (HoneHQ) who collectively told us that they look for people who bring a creative approach to problems. See for yourself!

Episode 3: Character

Nicole Olver (Conductor), Peter Phelan (ValuesCulture), Arthur Matuszewski (Wayfair), Eoin O'Reilly (Metlife) and Janna Biagio (Celmatix) highlight authenticity, humility and honesty: in short, character, is most important to them.

Episode 4: Growth Mindset

Isa Watson (Envested), Jonathan Basker (Basker & Co), Elliot Epstein (Knotel), Natalie Ledbetter (Stash Invest) and Tania Luna (Lifelabs) share how it is important for them that a person has a strong ability to learn and grow. Watch and see!

Agree? Disagree? We'd love to continue the conversation. Feel free to share with the day100 community the most important trait you look for when hiring.
